Hi, I’m Jacob.
When I was five, my dad handed me a hammer and a 4x4 and let me pound nails into it. That was my start. Before long I was building birdhouses, and then I was building parts for the gazebos, swing sets, and outdoor furniture we made in his woodworking shop. I grew up Amish, and that shop is where I learned what it means to do work with your hands, and to do it right.
From there I spent years in masonry and HVAC, learning how houses actually work. Then I spent the last 11 years serving in missions. Those years taught me that the best work is done in service to others, and that’s what I want every job to be.
I named my business Mended because I believe a home should be a place of beauty, order, and abundance. Sometimes that means replacing drafty windows or hanging a door that finally closes right. Sometimes it means installing new flooring and trim that pull a room together, or building a closet system that makes mornings easier. Big or small, I want you to walk through your home afterward and feel the difference.
My faith is what leads me, and it shapes how I work. I show up when I say I will, I keep you in the loop, and I treat your home like it’s my own.
When I’m not on a job, I’m home here in Louisville with my wife and our four girls.
My promise is simple: I’ll leave your home better than I found it.
